As the UK moves into a new geopolitical era, where the drive to put the country’s economy on a global stage becomes all important, the national landscape will come under increasing pressure to deliver growth.

The natural environment is already being challenged to deliver homes, roads and railways on an unprecedented scale.

How will the rural environment and urban fringe balance strategies for growth, open space biodiversity, sustainability and home-grown food?
